    In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC will organise the Training Course on 'Development of Dissemination Methods' at the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) of State of Kuwait on 11-13 December 2017.
    The Training Course will be conducted by Mr. Serhat Atakul, Expert at Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) of Republic of Turkey with the participation of relevant officials of the CSB of Kuwait.
    As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009; http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Data dissemination and data warehousing includes, topics like policies, strategies, methods and techniques of data dissemination, design and organization of output databases and data warehouses, including feedback from users, communicating with the media, work of NSO press offices, data and metadata presentation, electronic dissemination (Internet), statistical portals. The subject area “Data dissemination and data warehousing” is currently classified under the “Methodology of data collection, processing, dissemination and analysis” domain.

    S sesric_statistics started the conversation Study Visit on ‘Metadata’ to Turkey, 7-8 December 2017.

    In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC will organise the Study Visit on ‘Metadata’ to Turkey for the benefit of the State Statistical Committee (SSC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 7-8 December 2017. The study visit will be hosted by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) of Republic of Turkey.
    The study visit will be facilitated by relevant department of TurkStat with the participation of two officials from the SSC of Azerbaijan.

    The Study Visit will include discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

    In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘Economic Accounts’ at Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on 18 – 20 December 2017.

    The Training Course was conducted by Mr. N. Rajkumar V. NAGARETHINAM, Department of Statistics (DoS) of Malaysia, with the participation of 13 officials of the PBS.

    As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009;http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Economic Accounts – includes the topics on National Accounts in both current and constant prices, dealing with topics like implementation of the 1993 System National Accounts (1993 SNA), update of the 1993 SNA, European System of Accounts (ESA95), Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross National Income (GNI), non-observed and informal economy, measurement of capital, input-output tables, balance sheets, etc.

    The Training Course on ‘Economic Accounts’ included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:
    • Introduction to Institutional Unit and Sectors
    • Introduction to Production Accounts.
    • Introduction to Primary Distribution of Income Accounts.
    • Secondary distribution of income account.
    • Use of income account.
    • Capital account.

    In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘Coordination of International Statistical Work’ at Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on 13 – 15 December 2017.

    The Training Course was conducted by Ms. Grace Bulenzi GULERE, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), with the participation of 14 officials of the PBS.

    As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009;http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Coordination of International Statistical Work – includes the topics on coordination of statistical activities across international and supranational statistical organizations, includes work on the Database of International Statistical Activities, work of the Conference of European Statisticians, Statistical Commission and the Coordinating Committee of Statistical Activities.

    The Training Course on ‘Coordination of International Statistical Work’ included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:
    • Definition of statistical programmes with the IMF and other Organisations
    • Identification of coordination mechanisms and structures.
    • Measurement and documentation of the process of compiling requisite information.
    • Adoption of a KYU Model (Know your User).
    • Making users aware of how they can find the information they need.
    • Soliciting feedback from users on their experiences of the statistical service they receive.
    • Responding to data requests from various users in a timely manner and consulting users before making changes.

    In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘Statistical Confidentiality and Disclosure Protection’ at National Institute of Statistics and Economic Analysis

    The Training Course was conducted by Mr. Diomando SYNDOU, Expert from National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Cote d'Ivoire, with the participation of relevant officials of the INSAE.

    As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009;http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Statistical Confidentiality and Disclosure Protection – includes the topics on legal, organizational and technical measures to safeguard confidentiality of statistical data, methods of releasing microdata while protecting against disclosure of individual data.

    The Training Course on ‘Statistical Confidentiality and Disclosure Protection’ included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:
    • Concepts and Definitions
    • Statistical Confidentiality and Management of Confidentiality
    • Conditions Governing the Disclosure of Statistics

    S sesric_statistics started the conversation Study Visit on ‘Gender Statistics’ to Sudan on 20-22 November 2017.

    In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC will organise the Study Visit on ‘Gender Statistics’ to Sudan for the benefit of the Libyan Bureau of Statistics and Census (LBSC) on 20-22 November 2017. The study visit will be hosted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) of Sudan.
    The study visit will be facilitated by relevant department of CBS of Sudan with the participation of two officials from the LBSC.

    The Training Course will be conducted by Mr. Mohd Ridauddin Masud, Deputy Director, Balance of Payments (BOP) Division, Department of Statistics Malaysia, with the participation of relevant officials of the CSB of Kuwait.

    The Training Course was conducted by Mr. Elman GASIMZADE, Head of the Price Statistics Department of State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the participation of relevant officials of the Agency on Statistics under President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
