In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Study Visit on ‘Price Statistics’ for the benefit of Central Statistical Organization (CSO) of Republic of Iraq on 17 – 19 July 2017. The Study Visit was hosted by the Department of Statistics (DoS) of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Study Visit was paid by Mrs. Khawlah Jaafar Ahmed AL-TAIE, Supervisor at Consumer Price Index (CPI) Section, and Mrs. Alaa Ismail Mohammed Jawad AL-SHAIKHLI, Staff at Consumer Price Index (CPI) Section, CSO of Republic of Iraq.
As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009; http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Prices – covers any statistical activity dealing with prices, including Purchasing Power Parities (PPPs) and international comparisons of GDP, covers topics like Consumer Price Indices (CPI), inflation, Producer Price Indices (PPI), and price indexes for specific products and services (e.g. Information and Communication Technology products).
The Study Visit on ‘Price Statistics’ included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:
• Calculating the Price Index Numbers of Wholesale Index Numbers,
• Index Numbers of the Industrial Sector,
• Consumer Price Index (CPI)
• Producers Index Numbers of Services Sector
• Producers Price Index (IPP)
